Survey and Projectization
After identification of the problems and needs of the area, a project plan is prepared with the active involvement of watershed community using Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) Technique. To cover all the necessary components in the project report, various surveys are conducted.
LAND RESOURCES SURVEY
(A) Preparparation of thematic layers using GIS & Remote Sensing
In order to prepare DPR based on scientific planning, various thematic layers (Base Maps, Drainage line, slope, contour, land use, land cover maps) are being prepared for project area and these layers are to be used while preparation of DPR.
(B) PRESENT LAND USE SURVEY
It is conducted to obtain information regarding the present land use of the watershed covering irrigated, unirrigated and pasture land, human habitation & soil & water conservation measures in practice.
WATER RESOURCE SURVEY
Water resource survey is conducted to obtain the information regarding rainfall acquifer,quality of water, behavior of runoff during mansoon season.Watershed work plan is prepared to meet the requirement of water for human population, livestock and crops.
SOCIO ECONOMIC SURVEY
It is conducted to know the socio economic condition of the watershed community and to collect information regarding population, professions, rural & cottage industries, other employment opportunities, market, banking, input arrangements, transport, medical, education and other facilities.
It helps in preparing the realistic plan for massive employment generation and ensuring livelihood security & better socio economic condition of rural population.
Vegetative survey is conducted to know the prevailing practices of crops, cropping pattern, species of grass, fuel,fodder, forestry, horticulture andmedicinal plants in the watershed.Vegetative action plan is prepared on the basis of this survey.
SURVEY OF HOUSEHOLD PRODUCTION SYSTEM

Accordingly the work plan is prepared to improve the working conditions & skills of the persons engaged in cottage industries and to provide new employment opportunities to the landless and unemployed persons.
It is conducted to obtain the information about livestock and type of available breeds in the watershed.
Work plan is prepared to improve the breed of livestock, to increase the fodder production and to provide facilities for the health care and treatment of the animals.
After conducting various surveys, the data is analyzed and a comprehensive project report incorporating the modes of the treatment & socio economic development plan is prepared through active participation of the people.
